Academic Integrity

A thesis is the work your degree rests on. Grongy is built to help you do that work honestly and well — not to help you shortcut it. This page explains the line we hold and the responsibilities that stay with you.

What Grongy is for

• Finding real, verifiable sources and understanding what they say.
• Structuring your argument and drafting from the evidence you collected.
• Writing in your own voice with honest, traceable citations, and improving prose you wrote yourself.

What Grongy will never do

• Fabricatesources, data, quotations, statistics or citations. If your library doesn't support a claim, Grongy leaves it as plain prose for you to back up — it never invents a reference.
• Help you evade detection. We do not build features to defeat plagiarism or AI-content detectors. Doing so would facilitate fraud.
• Ghostwrite work for you to submit unread. Grongy is a thinking partner, not a substitute for your own understanding and judgement.

Your responsibilities

• Follow your institution's policies on academic integrity, authorship and the use of AI tools — they vary, and they take priority.
• Disclose your use of AI where your institution requires it. Grongy includes a disclosure helper to make this easy.
• Verify everything — facts, numbers, quotations and every citation — before you rely on it or submit it.
• Stay the author. The final work, and responsibility for it, is yours.

Why we designed it this way

Tools that optimize for text you can paste in — and hide the fact that AI wrote it — put students at real risk and erode trust in scholarship. Grongy takes the opposite bet: that the honest path, made faster, is more valuable than a shortcut you can't defend. Used as intended, Grongy helps you produce work you understand and can stand behind.
