About Grongy AI
Grongy AI is an AI thesis writing assistant for students and researchers. It searches more than 250 million real scholarly records, turns a topic and a research question into an editable chapter plan, and drafts section by section from the papers you saved — with every citation pointing at a publication you can open. It is published in English, Turkish, Spanish and French.
Why it exists
The product came out of one ordinary failure. You ask a chatbot for a source, it hands you a reference with the right authors, a plausible title and a real-looking journal, and the paper does not exist. You find out at the worst possible moment — in a supervisor’s comments, or in a viva.
So the design starts from the opposite end. The draft can cite only publications you have saved to your own project library and can open. When the material does not support a sentence, the sentence stays uncited instead of receiving an invented reference. That produces a worse-looking first draft and a better thing to hand in, and that trade is the whole product.
What it will not do
These are not aspirations. They are refusals built into the product, and they are the reason some feature requests get turned down.
- No plagiarism-detector or AI-detector evasion. Nothing here is designed to make AI-assisted text harder to identify, and requests for it are declined.
- No fabricated sources, data, participants, measurements or quotations.
- A draft is never presented as ready to submit. What comes back is raw material to check, cut and rewrite.
- No invented ratings or review counts in our structured data — there are no reviews to report yet, and saying otherwise to win a rich result would contradict everything above.
How it works, briefly
The short version of what happens between a research question and a chapter.
- Real indexes, not a model’s memory
- Source search queries OpenAlex, Crossref, DOAJ, PubMed and arXiv, and uses Unpaywall to find a legal open-access PDF where one exists.
- Your library is the boundary
- Drafting, chat and autocomplete read the papers you saved. A citation resolves to a saved record or it is not written.
- The document is a real document
- Headings, numbering, a table of contents, captions, footnotes and page setup — exported to Word, PDF, LaTeX or Markdown, with 10 citation styles.
- Your work stays yours
- Documents are local-first: they live in your browser and back up to your own account’s private storage when you are signed in.
