Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Grongy (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Grongy is a research and writing assistant for academic work. It helps you find real sources, structure a document, draft with honest citations, and improve your own writing. Some features use artificial intelligence to generate suggestions and text.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. An account is optional and only required for the metered advanced AI models. If you create one, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity under your account.

3. Academic integrity & acceptable use

Grongy is a tool to support honest scholarship. You remain the author of, and are solely responsible for, any work you produce or submit. You agree that you will:

• comply with the academic-integrity, authorship and AI-use policies of your institution, publisher or employer, and disclose your use of AI assistance where required;
• review, verify and take ownership of everything before you submit or publish it.

You agree that you will not use the Service to:

• fabricate data, results, sources, quotations or citations;
• plagiarize, or misrepresent authorship of any work;
• evade, defeat or test plagiarism detectors, AI-content detectors or academic-integrity systems;
• break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property or other rights.

Grongy does not, and cannot, guarantee any grade, acceptance or outcome. It is designed to make honest work faster — not to do the work for you or help you deceive anyone.

4. AI-generated content

AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You must independently verify all facts, figures, quotations and citations before relying on them. AI suggestions are not professional, legal, medical or academic advice. You are responsible for the final content.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents, sources and other content you create or upload (“Your Content”). Your Content is stored locally in your browser. You grant us only the limited, temporary permission needed to process the specific text you submit to an AI feature, solely to provide that feature to you.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, branding and content we provide — belongs to Grongy and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law.

7. Plans & billing

The Service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, the applicable prices and terms will be presented to you, and you will not be charged without your consent.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including AI providers and scholarly databases) described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output will be accurate or suitable for your purposes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grongy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, academic outcomes or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
