What a concise register actually means
Concise changes the length, not the register. The prose stays formal; what goes is redundancy, throat-clearing, nominalisation and any sentence that restates the one before it.
The line that matters: never cut a hedge, a citation, a limitation, a number or a qualification to save words. Those are the load-bearing parts, and a shorter sentence that overclaims has not been improved.
This page measures. It does not rewrite, and cutting words is never offered here as a way to disguise how a text was produced — the editor's integrity rules do not relax at any length.
